Why doesn't the app pull tonight's weather automatically?
Flood Night is meant to be used standing by the rink at dusk, after you've already checked whatever forecast source you trust. Typing in the low and the wind yourself keeps the app fully offline and keeps the numbers exact for the moment you're flooding, rather than an hour-old forecast average.
How is the water amount calculated?
The app uses your rink's length and width along with the layer thickness you pick to work out the volume for that flood, then divides it by the flow rate you measured with the in-app bucket test to give you a hose time in minutes.
I switched phones. How do I get my rink and flood log back?
Flood Night stores everything locally on the device, with no account and no cloud sync, so data doesn't currently transfer between devices on its own. Restoring from an iCloud or iTunes/Finder backup of your old phone will bring the app's data back along with everything else on the device.
Can I reset the sample data?
Yes — open Settings from the gear icon on the Tonight tab and scroll to the data section, where you can restore the sample rink or start a clean season.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Yes. Flood Night has no server and no network features at all, so it works exactly the same with the phone in airplane mode as it does on wifi.
